I'm Chris Butterworth, a marketing and digital consultant based in Australia. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what I do with it. The short version: I collect only what I need to respond to your enquiry and understand how the site is used, and I never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Information you give me. If you submit the contact form, I collect your name, phone number, email address, role, and the goal you select, along with anything you choose to tell me. I use this to respond to your enquiry and, if we end up working together, to deliver that engagement.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site uses analytics tools to understand how visitors use it: pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (city level), device and browser type. This is collected via cookies and similar technologies and is aggregated; I don't use it to identify you personally.
This site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to measure site usage, and may use session-recording tools (such as Hotjar) to understand how visitors interact with pages. These services set cookies and may process data on servers outside Australia. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies entirely in your browser settings. The site works fine without them.
I don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I won't add you to a mailing list just because you enquired, and I won't pass your details to third parties for their marketing.
Your information is processed by a small number of service providers needed to run this site: form handling, website hosting, analytics (Google), and behaviour analytics. These providers may store data outside Australia. I only use providers that take security seriously, and I share only what's necessary for them to do their job.
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or engagement, plus any period required for legal or accounting purposes. If you'd like your details deleted sooner, just ask.
I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can ask me at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you. Contact me via the form on this site and I'll sort it out promptly.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes won't apply retrospectively to information collected under an earlier version.
